STOP WRITING!!
Think RELEVANT!! What content is relevant for the reader?
- What roles are relevant?
- Which components of these roles/achievements are relevant?
- Are all your courses/qualifications relevant?
- What additional information is relevant?
- What IT skills are relevant?
Suddenly, you don’t have as much to write!!!
Now, consider these points too
- Your CV should be no longer that 2-pages, circa 750 words MAX (a few exceptions)
- Use bullet points! I love bullet points, as do most CV reviewers!!
- Write achievement-led statements, keeping them short and sweet
- Start all bullet points with an ACTION VERB e.g., Delivered, Achieved
- When you finish writing your CV, audit to remove any final wishy-washy words
- Your professional summary should be 5 to 7 one-liner bullet points
